Payment & Invoicing: FAQs

Do I require a PayPal account to make payment?
No. The secure payment link permits settlement by PayPal or by debit/credit card as a guest. Card details are processed by PayPal; they are not stored on this website.

Which currencies are accepted?
Quotations are issued in GBP (£) by default. Payment links can be provided in USD ($) or other major currencies on request. If an alternative currency is preferred, please advise at the quotation stage.

Is VAT charged?
No. VAT is not charged on fees. Amounts stated are the amounts payable.

When does work commence?
Work begins upon confirmation of cleared payment (or deposit, where applicable). The estimated delivery timeline specified in the quotation runs from that point.

Are deposits required?
For larger engagements, a 50% deposit may be requested prior to commencement, with the balance due on delivery. Separate payment links will be issued for the deposit and for the balance, each referencing your Quote ID.

What documentation will I receive after payment?
An electronic receipt is issued automatically by PayPal. On request, a formal PDF receipt/invoice on letterhead, including your Quote ID and scope summary, can be provided.

How should I reference my payment?
Please retain and quote your Quote ID (e.g., Q2025-014) in all correspondence. The payment link you receive will already be tied to this reference.

What if the amount or currency appears incorrect?
Please do not proceed with payment. Contact contact@crosschannel.uk or use the Contact Form quoting your Quote ID. A corrected link will be issued promptly.

Can my organisation pay on my behalf and include a purchase order number?
Yes. Please provide the purchase order number and billing details when requesting the payment link; these can be reflected in the accompanying documentation.

What is your policy on revisions and scope changes?
Unless otherwise stated, the quotation includes {e.g., one clarification round within 30 days} of delivery. Material changes in scope may necessitate a revised quotation and a new payment link.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Before work begins, a full refund is issued. Once work has commenced, refunds are pro-rated to the portion completed, based on the agreed rate and scope.

How are confidentiality and data protection handled?
All client materials are treated as strictly confidential and stored securely. Files are used solely to prepare the quotation and deliver the agreed work. Records are retained for 30 days and can be deleted earlier on written request.

Are there alternative payment methods to PayPal?
Where PayPal is impracticable for institutional reasons, bank transfer may be arranged on request. Please contact contact@crosschannel.uk to obtain remittance details; note that bank charges and transfer times may vary.

What happens if a payment link expires or fails to open?
Links can expire or be blocked by network policies. If a link does not function, email contact@crosschannel.uk with your Quote ID and an updated link will be supplied.

Can I receive a payment link in a different currency after the quotation is issued?
Yes. If required, a revised payment link can be provided in an alternative currency; the quoted amount will be converted at the applicable rate when the new link is issued.
